About Char Dham Yatra:

If you are a devout Hindu then you must be aware of the char dham yatra of Uttarakhand where the pilgrims take a journey across four cardinal points of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri. This yatra or pilgrimage journey was established by the great sage, saint and the propagator of the Advaita philosophy, Adi Shankaracharya during the 8th century along with a number of other Matths which was done with an aim of increasing the awareness among the Hindu population about the importance of Hindu religion.

Badrinath Temple Timings

Badrinath TempleDedicated to Lord Vishnu who is worshipped here in the form of Lord Badri this temple is perched at an incredible height and is one of the most highly revered temple amongst devout Hindus. Here are the temple timings:

Overall Timing: 4 am to 9 pm
Morning Pooja: (4:30 am to 6:30 am) – Maha Abhishek; Abhishek Puja
Evening Puja: (6:30 am to 12 noon and 3:00 pm) – Ved Path; Geeta Path
Other Special Puja at Badrinath: Shrimad Bhagwat Saptah Path; Puja for the Whole Day

Kedarnath Temple Timings

Kedarnath TempleThe dham of Kedarnath is dedicated to Lord Shiva in the form of Lord of Kedar which means the lord of the entire Kedar valley. It is also a part of the holy panch kedar yatra pilgrimage circuit.

Here are the temple timings for Kedarnath dham:

Overall Timing: 4 am to 9 pm
Morning Puja: (4 am to 7 pm) – Maha Abhishek, Rudra Abhishek, Laghu Rudra Abhishek, Shodashopachara Puja
Evening Puja: and Sevas (6:00 pm to 7:30 pm) – Sahasranama Puja; Mahimna Stotra Path; Tandav Stotra Puja
Morning Darshan Timing: 4 am to 3 pm; evening darshan timing – 5 pm to 9 pm

Gangotri Temple Timings

Gangotri TempleDedicated to goddess Ganga and located on the point where goddess Ganga is said to have descended from heaven to earth, this dham is one of the most rarely occurring temple in India.

Here are the puja and darshan timing for the temple:

Overall Timing: 6:15 am to 9:30 pm
Morning Puja: (6:00 am) – Gangotri Mangal Aarti; Ganga Devi Puja
Evening Puja: (7:45 pm in summer months and 7:00 pm in winter months) – Sandhya Aarti
Morning Darshan Timings: 6:15 am to 2:00 pm; / Evening Darshan Timings: 3:00 pm to 9:30 pm

Yamunotri Temple Timings

Yamunotri TempleAs the name suggests this dham is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna and is perched on a flank right on the edge of the cliff. This place can be reached after covering a walking distance of 6-8 kms and is the place where the char dham yatra commences since this is the easternmost end of the Chota char dham yatra of Uttarakhand.

Here are the temple timings for Yamunotri dham:

Overall Timings: 6:00 am to 8:00 pm
Morning Aarti: 6:30 am
Evening Aarti: 7:30 pm
Afternoon Break: 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm
