Home » Chardham Yatra Registration 2024

India has hundreds of pilgrimage places where Hindus travel to fulfill their spiritual obligations. Chardham yatra tops the list and these four destinations, comprising of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri, are crowded during the pilgrimage season that starts sometime around Akshay Trijya and ends around Diwali. Lakhs of pilgrims visit these four places and there is an overload on local facilities such as travel and accommodation. It is wiser to plan the yatra well in advance and ensure Char Dham Yatra Registration with Chardham yatra specialist so that one does not face any difficulty during the pilgrimage.

Opening

Registration for the Chardham yatra commences much prior to the scheduled opening date of the four destinations, which is almost always held around Akshay Trij that falls sometime in April and May. If you register as an individual you may need to approach any one of the 14 registration centers or call +91-9911884413 for details. Better still, entrust the task to an agent who will take care of the registration and also your travel arrangements. Gangotri and Yamunotri open for pilgrims on or around 14th May in 2023. Kedarnath will open on 18th May and Badrinath on 18th of May. This is convenient. The usual route involves travel to Yamunotri first followed by Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. Yamunotri and Gangotri can be completed in a short time but Kedarnath is tough and you should plan to have a couple of days for rest and acclimatization at high altitudes.

Registration

You can register directly and obtain Chardham yatra passes at any of the 14 centers located in Haridwar Railway Station, at Rishikesh roadways bus stand, at Janki Chatta and in Gangotri, Guptkashi, Phata, Sonprayag, Kedarnath, Pandukeshwar, Govindghat as well as Uttarkashi. If you arrive at the opening time you will have to stand in a long queue to get yourself registered. You can also consider online registration in which you log on to Chardham Registration and fill your name, address, Aadhar and other details and pay the registration fee of Rs 50. You can book darshan at the pilgrimage temples and also book a room. You need to submit a photo ID. You receive a confirmatory registration card in your email that you can print and keep with you when you undertake the Chardham pilgrimage.

Keep in Mind

It must be kept in mind that limited accommodation is available at the pilgrimage centers so booking in advance is in your interest. For instance, Kedarnath zone accommodates only 3000 travelers. Biometrics may be compulsory. When you log in to book darshan and accommodation you will need to indicate the date of arrival at each temple. Therefore, plan well in advance so that you do not miss the date but it does not matter even if you arrive a day early or late for darshan. The yatra card is for your safety and security so please keep it with you at all times. It is better to register online for the yatra. If you do it in person it could involve spending hours in a long line.
