South India Cultural Tour Itinerary

Day 1 :Arrival in Chennai

Upon your arrival in Chennai airport, our tour representative will receive you and check you into your allotted hotel here. The remainder of the day will be free for you to relax and have a leisurely time here. In the evening you will be made to proceed for a visit to the famous Kapaleeshwarar Temple – a true landmark of expert architecture with fine carvings; Fort St. George and by evening time you will be made to proceed to the longest urban beach in the world – Marina beach.

After a day packed with fun and thrill, you will be taken back to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2 :Chennai – Mahabalipuram – Kanchipuram

Early in the morning after having your breakfast you will be driven to Kanchipuram which is situated at a distance of 2.5 hours by road. En route you will be made to halt at Mahabalipuram which is located at a distance of 1 hour from Chennai and here you will be made to visit some interesting tourist attractions here like – Arjun’s penance, caves of Mahabalipuram and the grand UNESCO world heritage of shore temples.

Finally, you will be made to head for Mahabalipuram where on arrival you will be made to check in to your hotel where you will be staying the night.

Day 3 :Kanchipuram – Vellore – Tiruvannamalai

After having your breakfast in the morning you will be taken on an architectural tour of Kanchipuram where you will be covering places like – Ekambareswarar Temple, Kailasanathar Temple, Kamakshi Temple and Varadarajaswamy Temple. After this temple tour you will be made to head for Tiruvannamalai which is situated at a distance of almost 3 hours. En route you will be visiting the famous Vellore fort and the golden temple. On reaching Tiruvannamalai you will be checked in to your allotted hotel here for an overnight stay.

Day 4 :Tiruvannamalai – Gingee – Pondicherry

Your early morning will commence in a sacred manner by paying a visit to Annamalaiyar Temple. After the Darshan and post breakfast you will be driven to your next destination of Pondicherry which is situated at a distance of 2 hours by road. En route you will be made to visit the famous Gingee Fort. On reaching Pondicherry or officially known as Puducherry you will be transferred to your hotel here where you will be spending the night.

Day 6 :Pondicherry – Chidambaram – Gangaikondan – Darasuram

Your journey for Kumbakonam will start early in the morning after breakfast which is situated at a distance of 3 hours and 15 minutes. On your way you will be made to visit some of the most popular places of attraction in Tamil Nadu like Nataraja Temple in Chidambaram, Gangaikondan, Brihadeeswarar Temple and Darasuram Airavatesvara Temple.

On reaching Kumbakonam you will be checked in to your allotted hotel here where you will be spending the night.

Day 7 :Kumbakonam – Tanjore

Early in the morning after having your breakfast you will be made to visit a few sightseeing Destinations here in Kumbakonam. You will be covering famous places like – Kumbakonam Brass Factory and Adi Kumbeswarar Temple s significant temple for Shivji. You will finally be driven to your next destination of Tanjore which is situated at a distance of 1 hour 10 minutes. On reaching Tanjore you will be straightaway made to visit the famous temple of Brihadeeswara and Tanjore art gallery. Finally after an eventful day you will be made to check in to your hotel where you will be spending the night.

Day 8 :Tanjore – Trichy – Madurai

After having your breakfast in the morning you will be driven to your next destination of Madurai which is situated at a distance of 3 hours and 10 minutes. On your way you will be made to visit the famous Ranganatha and the famous rock fort temple. On arriving at Madurai you will be made to check in to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 9 :Cultural Tour of Madurai

Early in the morning after having your breakfast you will be taken on a complete cultural and Traditional tour of Madurai which is truly the cultural capital of India. You will be covering places like – Meenakshi Amman Temple, Thirumalai Nayak Palace etc. these places represent not only intense spirituality but with towering Gopurams and an amazing fusion of Dravidian architectural styles they are also a mark of expert craftsmanship. By evening you will be made to attend the unique evening Aarti known as night ceremony.

Finally you will be made to head back to your hotel here in Madurai for staying the night.

Day 10 :Madurai – Kodaikanal

After having your breakfast in the morning, you will be made to head for your next destination of Kodaikanal which will take you through some of the most scenic and picturesque hills. After driving for around 3 hours you will reach Kodaikanal where upon arrival you will be visiting tourist places here like – Kodaikanal Lake, Bryant Park, Coaker’s Walk, bear shola falls among others. After this you will be taken to your hotel where you will be spending the night.

After a brief heritage walk of the French colony here you will be taken back to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 11 :Kodaikanal – Mysore

Early in the morning after having your breakfast you will be made to leave for Mysore which will be a journey 7.5 hours. Your entire day will be covered in this journey and on reaching Mysore you will be checked in to your allotted hotel here where you will be spending the night. The evening time will be free for you to relax in the hotel.

Day 12 :Cultural Tour of Mysore

After having your breakfast in the morning you will be made to proceed for a cultural sightseeing tour of Mysore. You will be covering places like – Chamundeshwari Temple, Mysore Palace and the grand Vrindavan garden. By evening time you will be made to enjoy the sound and light show in this garden. After this you will be made to head back to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 13 :Mysore – Srirangapatna – Somnathpur – Hassan

Your morning drive to Hassan will begin early in the morning after your breakfast. This will be a journey of 2 hours and 45 minutes. On your way you will be made to visit the famous Srirangapatna Palace and Chennakesava Temple in Somnathpur. On arriving at Hassan you will be made to check in to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 14 :Hassan – Halebid – Belur – Hassan

You will be made to proceed for an excursion in Halebid after breakfast. This is situated at a distance of just 45 minutes. This is a massive temple complex and contains Jain and Hindu temples. After this you will be made to head on for Belur which is located at a distance of just half an hour. This place is situated right on the banks of the river Yagachi and is surrounded by lush greenery. Here you will also visit the famous Chennakeshava Temple Complex. After this cultural excursion of South India you will be made to head back to your hotel in Hassan for an overnight stay.

Day 15 :Hassan – Shravanabelagola – Hospet

Early in the morning after having your breakfast you will be made to driven to Hospet which is situated at a distance of less than 7 hours. On your way you will be made to visit the famous Shravanabelagola that is famous for the glorious statue of Gomateshwara Bahubali and is also an important place for pilgrimage for Jains. You will then be made to driven to Hospet. Upon arriving here you will be made to check in to your hotel where you will be spending the night.

Day 16 :Hospet – Hampi – Hospet

Early in the morning after having your breakfast you will be made to proceed to your next destination of Hampi for a day of cultural excursion here. It is situated at a distance of just 30 minutes. The ruins of Hampi are a UNESCO world heritage site and is one of the best places if you want to experience the true colours of southern India. The temples and structures here date back to the ancient times when the place used to be inhabited. After a day of exhilarating excursion, you will be taken back to your hotel in Hospet for an overnight stay.

Day 17 :Hospet – Aihole – Pattadakal – Badami

Your Badami journey will begin after the completing your breakfast in the morning which is situated at a distance of 3 hours. On your way you will be visiting the tranquil destination of Aihole and consists of Hindu Jain and Buddhist temples. After Aihole you will be made to visit Pattadakal which contains incredible collection of monuments which are listed as the UNESCO world heritage site. After the sightseeing excursion, you will be transferred to your hotel in Badami where you will be spending the night.

Day 18 :Cultural Tour of Badami

Your cultural sightseeing tour of Badami will begin after breakfast in the morning. There are several significant caves and rock-cut architecture here which are of Jain and Buddhist interest. All these temples are listed on the UNESCO world heritage site. After exploring this magnificent place. You will be made to return back to your hotel in Badami where you will be spending the night.

Day 19 :Badami – Bijapur – Gulbarga

You will be driven to Gulbarga after having your breakfast in the morning at Badami. On your way, you will be visiting the famous sightseeing place of Bijapur or Agra of the south and will include going to places like Gol Gumbaz and Bijapur Fort. After a sightseeing exploration in Bijapur, your drive to Gulbarga will continue. On arriving here you will be checked in to your hotel here for an overnight stay.

Day 20 : Gulbarga – Bidar – Hyderabad

Once you are done with your breakfast you will be made to proceed on a brief sightseeing tour of Gulbarga. You will be covering the famous Gulbarga Fort. You’re driving journey to Hyderabad will also commence which is located at a distance of 4 hours and 40 minutes. On your way to Hyderabad, you will be made to visit the famous Bidar fort. Upon your arrival in Hyderabad, you will be immediately checked in to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 21 :Cultural Tour of Hyderabad

After having your breakfast you will be taken on a cultural tour of the city of Nizams – Hyderabad. Here you will be covering places like – Charminar, Golconda Fort, Qutub Shahi Tomb and Birla Mandir. After a complete sightseeing tour you will be made to head back to your hotel here where you will be spending the night.

Day 22 :Hyderabad Departure

After you are done with your breakfast our tour representative will transfer you to your departure destination. This will mark the end of your 22 days and 21 nights of complete cultural tour of south India with us.
