Madurai Rameshwaram Tour Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival – Madurai - Rameshwaram (3 hrs/180 km)

  • Your tour will begin as you arrive at Madurai and meet our courteous representative who will welcome you with open arms and guide you on the further journey.
  • From Madurai Railway Station/Airport, our driver will pick you up and transfer you to Rameshwaram. Rameshwaram is closest to Sri Lanka and is separated by the Pamban channel from mainland India.
  • After arriving at Rameshwaram, you will check into your pre-booked hotel.
  • After getting fresh, you will proceed to Agnitheertham, Ramjharoka Temple, and Ramanathaswamy Temple.
  • You will have an overnight stay in Rameshwaram.

Day 2 : In Rameswaram

  • You will have a bath early in the morning at Agni Theertham.
  • You will then go for Sphatik Lingam Darshan, which is also called Mani Darshan.
  • After darshan and a holy bath, you’ll return to your hotel and have a lip-smacking breakfast.
  • Post breakfast, you’ll head out for a sightseeing tour of Rameshwaram. You will visit Five-faced Hanuman Temple, Gandamadana Parvatham/ Lord Rama footprint, Ramar Patham, Kothandaramaswamy Temple, Rama Setu/ Adam’s Bridge, Dhanushkodi, and Former President A. P. J. Abdul Kalam House.

Dhanushkodi: Dhanushkodi is a small town situated at the southern tip of Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu. Dhanushkodi means “Tip of the Bow”. Because of the two seas confluence at the end point and its shape, Dhanushkodi is known as the tip of the bow. The main attraction of Dhanushkodi is Adam’s Bridge.

Kothandaraman Temple: This temple is one of the popular religious sites in Rameshwaram. It is surrounded on one side by the sparkling waters of the Bay of Bengal and on the other side by the Gulf of Munnar. This temple was visited by Saint Swami Vivekananda before his tour to Chicago.

Day 3 : Rameswaram – Madurai (3 hrs/180 km)

  • You can visit the temple in the morning, or once again, or have Samudra Snanam. You will then head back to Madurai.
  • On the way, you will visit the Pamban Rail Scissors Bridge and the Pamban Bridge.
  • You will then continue your journey to Madurai.
  • You will check into your pre-booked hotel.
  • After relaxing for some time, you will visit the Thiruparankundram Murugan temple and the Madurai Meenakshi Amman temple.
  • After darshan, you will return to your hotel and have an overnight stay at Madurai.

Day 4 : Madurai Departure

  • Savour a delicious breakfast in the morning, and then you will be transferred to Madurai Airport or the railway station for your journey to your hometown.
