How to Reach

The Do Dham Yatra typically begins from one of these three locations, Haridwar, Rishikesh or Dehradun.

By Air

The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport, located in Dehradun. It is located around 240 km from Kedarnath and 330 km from Badrinath. Helicopter services to Kedarnath operate from Phata, Sersi and Guptkashi.

By Train

Haridwar Junction & Rishikesh are the closest major railheads. These stations are connected to Delhi, Mumbai & Kolkata.

By Road

From Delhi (250 km to Haridwar), the travel will take you through Rudraprayag & Guptkashi to Kedarnath. Onwards, you will move towards Joshimath to Badrinath. The whole drive is scenic and is filled with riverside views & small Himalayan towns.

If you are heading towards Gangotri and Yamunotri, the journey unfolds along the Uttarkashi and Barkot. The routes are dotted by forests, ashrams and Himalayan villages that are a sight to behold.

Best Time to Visit Do Dham

The best time to take part in the Do Dham Yatra is between May to June and September to October. Because the weather is clear during these months and also the temples are open for Darshan.

Do note that the shrines remain closed from November to April due to snow. During this period, deities are ceremonially moved to their winter abodes.
