2) Ramabhar Stupa

This is another important place of remarkable significance. The Stupa is built on top of the place where Buddha had achieved his Mahaparinirvana. This is also one of the highlights of Kushinagar and a pilgrimage centre for Buddhists. The surroundings here are extremely lush green and calming making a visit here must.

3) Wat Thai Complex

As the name suggests this is a Thai Temple of Lord Buddha and is one of the most beautiful temples here. Most of the places inside the complex are off limit to the normal day to day visitors. The surroundings contain large green gardens with bonsai trees making it look very peaceful and Pleasant.

4) Mathakaur Temple

It is probably one of the most underrated centres of tourist attraction here in Kushinagar. A very graceful looking massive Buddha statue is installed here which is worshipped by the visitors. According to some locals this is the actual site of Buddha departing from this world. The current building which you will see was constructed in 1927 by the pilgrims from Myanmar.

5) Kesariya Stupa

If you have some time in your hand then you can also visit the famous Kesariya Stupa which lies in between Kushinagar and Vaishali. With a circumference of 1400 feet it is undoubtedly one of the largest Stupas in India. This is the place where Buddha is said to have spent and visited a few times during his journey to Kushinagar for attainment of Mahaparinirvana.
