Chardham Yatra Itinerary Package from Chennai

Day 1 :Chennai to Delhi & Delhi to Rishikesh (2,478 km / 42 h)

From Chennai board flight/train to reach Delhi. At Delhi airport/railway station our representative waits to greet you. We then escort you to board the train to Rishikesh for the overnight journey. Overnight in train.

Day 2 :Rishikesh – Barkot (200 km / 7 hr)

Rishikesh at the foothills of the Himalayas in Uttarakhand is an acclaimed religious destination enjoying the metaphors of being ‘gateway to Garhwal Himalayas’ and ‘India’s yoga capital’. After breakfast, we set out for a short sightseeing tour of Rishikesh, visiting places like Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula, Neelkanth Mahadev temple, Bharat Mandir, Swarg Niwas temple etc post sightseeing we head for Barkot, a slumberous hill town tucked away from the chaos at an altitude of 1220 meters. En route we visit the dramatically gushing Kempty falls of Mussoorie. On reaching Barkot, we check into the hotel for dinner and night stay.

Day 3 :Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot (45 km Road / 6 km Trek)

Today at dawn we’ll set out for our darshan of the first of the Chardhams in the Chota Chardham circuit; i.e. Yamunotri Dham. We’ll travel by road transport until Janki Chatti after which there is no road for vehicles to move. So, trekking is the only option left for you to reach the shrine. Trek a distance of 6kms to reach the Yamunotri shrine from Janki Chatty; the Yamunotri trek base camp. After darshan at the revered temple of goddess Yamuna, we trek back to Janki chatty and then travel back to Barkot for the overnight stay at the hotel. If you are unable to trek, then you can always hire the services of Doli or pony.

Day 4 :Barkot – Uttarkashi (90 km/4 hrs)

Next morning we leave for Uttarkashi or ‘Kashi of north’. The virgin beauty of this high altitude hill station laid out alongside River Bhagirathi is truly invigorating. Challenging pathways, deep caverns, alpine lakes, alpine meadows characterize the scenic beauty of Uttarkashi. Upon reaching Uttarkashi, check into the hotel and later set out to visit the Kashi Vishwanath temple and the Shakti temple; the two major attractions of this beautiful hill station. The Kashi Vishwanath temple dedicated to Lord Shiva while the Shakti temple belongs to Goddess Shakti. The fact that both the temples are positioned face to face is indeed noteworthy. Post darshan we return back to the hotel for dinner and night stay.

Day 5 :Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi (100 km / 4hr)

Next day early morning we proceed for the next of the Chardhams in the Chota Chardham circuit; i.e. Gangotri, a venerated shrine dedicated to Goddess Ganga. The journey from Uttarkashi to Gangotri and back to Uttarkashi greets one with picture-perfect sceneries. You can spot several apple orchards on the way and can feel the divinity in the air. All along the gushing River Bhagirathi accompanies you on the route that runs along its banks. The pristine white shrine of Goddess Ganga at Gangotri is an emblem of the purity of the holy river Ganges. Post darshan we drive back to our hotel at Uttarkashi for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6 :Uttarkashi – Srinagar (205 km/ 8 hr)

Next day post breakfast we depart for Srinagar, another idyllic hill station of Uttarakhand in the Pauri Garhwal region. On the way, we catch a glimpse of the mighty masonry marvel; the Tehri dam that offers one with the most astounding visuals. On reaching check into the hotel for dinner and night stay.

Day 7 :Srinagar – Sitapur (80 km / 4 hr)

Next morning post breakfast we head for Sitapur, a picturesque Himalayan Hamlet reflecting the pristine glory of nature at its best. En route we visit the famous Dhari Devi temple, Gauri temple along the banks of Rudraprayag confluence and the Narad Shila. On reaching we check into the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 8 :Sitapur – Kedarnath – Sitapur (19 km Trek / 6 hrs)

Today we’ll visit the third shrine in the Chota Chardham circuit; i.e. the Kedarnath shrine belonging to lord Kedareshwara or Lord Shiva. This is the highest of all Jyotirlingams that our country has. We’ll travel till Gaurikund en route Sonprayag by vehicle. Sonprayag, one of the ‘Panch Prayags’ is the confluence of River Mandakini and River Basuki. The mythological significance of this place is immense as Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati’s wedding is said to have taken place at this very spot. From Sonprayag, we proceed towards Gaurikund; the base camp for Kedarnath trek. From Gaurikund, the trek base camp, you need to trek your way to the shrine of Kedarnath ji. A distance of 16kms needs to be covered through trekking and the route is pretty challenging. Those who wish to make a helicopter yatra to the shrine can avail the helicopter Kedarnath yatra from Phata. If you opt for Helicopter yatra, we’ll drop you at Phata from where you can take a helicopter to the shrine. Post darshan of Kedarnath Ji, we will return back to Sitapur. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 9 :Sitapur – Badrinath (230 km / 9 hr)

Today we’ll proceed for the next and last of the Chardhams in the Chota Chardham circuit; i.e. Badrinath Dham. It is a shrine dedicated to Lord Badrinarayan, a manifestation of Lord Vishnu. En route we visit the Narasimha temple at Joshimath, a small town lying in the vicinity to Badrinath Dham. On reaching Badrinath we’ll check into the hotel for dinner and complete rest after a rigorous trek.

Day 10 :Badrinath – Pipalkoti (80 km / 4 hr)

Early morning we proceed towards Badrinath temple, the most venerated shrine of Lord Vishnu in the whole of the country and the world. We take part in the morning aarti at the temple and then move on to visit some of the nearby attractions like Mana Village, Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa, Bheem Pul, Narad Kund, Brahma Kapal after sightseeing we drive straight to Pipalkoti and check into the hotel.

Day 11 :Pipalkoti – Haridwar – Delhi (220 km /6 hr)

Next morning post breakfast we depart for Haridwar en route Devprayag; the most important confluence among the Panch Prayags. At Devprayag, River Bhagirathi meets River Alkananda to make the holy river Ganges. On reaching Haridwar, we proceed to visit the famous ghat of Haridwar; the Har-ki-Pauri. Also, we visit two other most important temples of Haridwar; Chandi Devi temple and Mansa Devi temple. After viewing the most enchanting Ganga aarti in the evening at Har-ki-Pauri ghat, we head for the railway station to board the overnight train to Delhi. Overnight in the train.

Day 12 :Delhi Departure

In the morning we arrive at Delhi. Our Chardham yatra has completed successfully. Our representative drops you at station/airport from where you board your train/flight for your homeward journey.
